Cantil is standing in the square just off the inn road talking to a middle-aged gentleman. The conversation seems to revolve around shoes, as the man points frequently down to his boots. Cantil nods, asks a question, and nods again at the response.

Sehsis walks into the square deep in thought and possibly looking a little worried

Cantil opens the door and steps through into the tavern. He looks tired, but he glances around the room and aims for a well-lit table near the fire.

Sehsis had already occupied one of the fire side tables, being disinclined to be too far away from the only decent source of warmth in this far-too-cold country

Cantil is heading into town from the north, a game bag slung over his shoulder. Cricket lopes along behind him, pausing to sniff, uh, basically everything. Though Cantil looks worn out, Cricket is clearly still full of energy.

Sehsis walks into the square from the direction of the inn. Seeing Cantil and the dog he stops, remembering the dog’s unexpected licking of his hand.

Sehsis nods gravely “It was said by one of the poets that ‘family affection is stronger than silk.’ I hope you find your family one day.”

Keena¬†presses her lips tightly together. “Indeed.”

Cantil sits on top of a flat stone besides the pond, working figures on a small slate. A book is open next to him.

“…And make sure there is a lot of water” The voice of Sehsis can be heard and soon enough the man himself appears, Apahesh following a few paces behind him. “Well. Get on with it then.” The other man gives a low bow and murmurs, “To hear is to obey” And runs off. Sehsis continues into the courtyard, stopping when he sees Cantil.

Cantil is sitting under a tree at the side of the main path, a book open on his lap. He seems ostensibly to be studying, but it’s really nice and there’s plenty of distractions in the form of general market-day hullabaloo. His hound is curled up next to him, sleeping.

Sehsis is some distance away, patiently but firmly haggling with one of the market vendors, after quite a long time in which there is much back and forth and disagreement a price is finally settled on and Sehsis makes his purchase

Amongst the horses in the stables is one of the smaller Calormene breed, a pack horse by the look of it. The horse is contentedly feeding while the man who had reluctantly introduced himself as Apahesh is busy grooming it.

Cantil enters the stables, waving briefly to Noyes, and casts a quick glance up and down the alley. When he catches sight of Apahesh, he hesitates, then heads that direction.
